CORE Education coordinates the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) in Canterbury on behalf of the Young Enterprise Trust.


E-day at Canterbury University 11/12 March


The first event for the year for YES.
We had over 350 students attend the E-days at Canterbury University Student Association Ballroom.
This event was sponsored by Canterbury University College of Business and Economics.

Microfilm Business Card Competition (April 2010)

Team Ezuka (Rangi Ruru Girls) unlimited business cards for all directors.

Business Presentation (oral) Competition-Copthorne Hotel (Durham St)
2 June 2010


Stick It-Rangiora High School- Won first place in the Blackwell room

My Security- Christchurch Boys High School - Won First Place in the Buick room.

Deliberate Design- Marian College- Won Second Place in the Blackwell Room

Oceanic Fusion- St Thomas of Canterbury- Won Second Place in the Buick Room

This event is sponsored by Millennium Hotels.

The Winners of the business plan (oral) competition won a trophy and a voucher from the Copthorne Hotel for lunch for all company directors and teachers.

The second place winners from each room won a trophy and a voucher from the Copthorne Hotel for breakfast for all the company directors and teachers.

*Above with 3 of the teams is Scott Wallace from Millennium Hotels who was also a judge on the night.

Trade Fair- The Palms Shopping Centre Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th August


This event was sponsored by The Palms shopping Centre.
There were 29 teams from 10 schools attend the trade fair weekend, it was a great atmosphere and wonderful weekend.
The Mayor Bob Parker was the judge on Saturday and Labour MP Lianne Dalziel was the judge for Sunday.
We had winners for the 4 categories for each day(Best customer service,Best YES Promotion, Best Product/Service, Best Stall) who will all receive a certificate and a $100 Palms Voucher.
